Consumer Electronics · VSN Mobil / 360fly
Design lead across two generations of 360° action cameras, pioneering the single-lens full-sphere capture format and winning the CES Innovation Award at global launch.
The Brief
At a time when action cameras were all rectangles with multiple lenses, the V360 and 360fly challenged the category with a single-lens hemispherical capture system and a radically minimal spherical form. The brief was to design something that looked as innovative as its technology.
Two product generations, unveiled at CES 2017 with the 360fly 4K winning the CES Innovation Award in Digital Imaging, along with multiple European design recognitions and the iF Award.

Design Process
01 · Gen 1 · V360
Designed the original V360 around a unique constraint: a single wide-angle lens that required a perfectly symmetric hemispherical housing. Explored dozens of form directions before converging on the sphere, which became the product's identity and patent-worthy innovation.
02 · Material & Optics Integration
The optical dome required precise integration with the housing to avoid refraction distortion. Collaborated closely with optical and mechanical engineers to achieve a seamless interface between lens housing and body while maintaining waterproofing and impact resistance.
03 · Gen 2 · 360fly 4K
The second generation refined every dimension of the first: tighter tolerances, premium CMF with anodized aluminum accents, and an improved magnetic mounting system. Unveiled at CES 2017 and immediately recognized for design innovation.
04 · IP & Awards
The 360fly 4K won the CES 2017 Innovation Award in Digital Imaging on launch day. Subsequently earned the iF Design Award and three Silver European Design Awards. Multiple design patents filed across both generations.
05 · Gen 3 · Concept
Before the program concluded, a Gen 3 concept was developed exploring dual-lens hemispherical capture — two opposing sensors achieving true 360° full-sphere coverage with no blind spots. The dual-camera architecture would have enabled stereoscopic depth and richer spatial capture, positioning the platform for the next wave of immersive content creation.
